2.) ANGER MANAGEMENT SERVICES

P.U.S.H. Up Recovery’s Anger Management classes may be ordered by the courts for several issues. Participants gain an understanding of how to manage feelings of anger that can sometimes lead to stress. Our classes include strategies to avoid violent tendencies. Productive methods taught in the classes include being conscious of yourself in stressful situations, how to correspond successfully, and using stress management to put a stop to outbursts of anger.

P.U.S.H. Up Recovery recognizes that anger is an expression for layers of other personal struggles. Upon receiving support and services, be prepared to challenge yourself to self-explore what has led up to this very moment.  All sessions are combined with psycho-educational and process material.

3.) BATTERING INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION PROGRAM (BIPP)

The purpose of Battering Intervention and Prevention services is to assist persons in building healthy relationships and ending abuse and/or violence. The Battering Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP) provided at P.U.S.H. Up Recovery is an accredited and approved program in the state of Texas.  We provide recovery support and services beyond labels and stigma. P.U.S.H. Up Recovery prides itself on rendering competent, caring, and compassionate services.

What to expect: BIPP is not an Anger Management Program.

The program curriculum addresses some Anger Management issues and teach some Anger Management skills, but it is much more comprehensive in its approach. The curriculum addresses socio-cultural issues, particularly regarding gender and violence, teaches and develops critical thinking skills, and includes therapeutic topic elements, such as empathy, accountability, and communication. Some courts are requiring both BIPP Classes and Anger Management Classes, we strongly recommend completing the BIPP Classes before you take Anger Management Classes, the violent, abusive, controlling, and aggressive behavior must be addressed before you take on the task of learning effective anger management skills.
